Off the line acceleration?

   What are simple ways to improve? My throttle response from standing sucks. Its partly due to my auto gearbox but just wondering if there are any ways to improve it?

   Throttle resposne = Ported and polished throttle body (cheap aswell)
   
   Accleration = Weight saving (Remove spare tyre, rear seats, rear carpets, parcel shelf, bonnet lining)

   automatic gearbox....doesnt effect your throttle response effects the transfer of the power from engine to gearbox for throttle response breatjing mods exhaust inlet etc.. for acceleration save weight change gearbox smaller wheels etc unless ure spending big money the pulley kits seem a good buy

   i run a s1 rallye box on my 106, it's loads better for acceleration than the 1.1 box was

   Ported and polished throttle body will do nothing! its not changing the inlet size so wont allow anymore air through.
   
   Your fighting a loosing battle to be honest as the gearbox will always kill you. Weight is your only descent option

   It is changing the size, thats what the porting part is. Removing metal and making it bigger by 1/2mm. Same principal as a ported head and they work very well

    Unless the inlet past the throttle body is ported though it's pretty pointless
    and portind the Inlet is pretty pointless too tbh as Theres not much to take out

    just lose as much weight as possible or stick a manual box on it.

    new tyres need wearing in before they become effective.
    so new tyres with 100 or 2 dry miles on them

    you will not improve your intial response due to it being automatic ,its function of the gearbox ,nothing you do to the engine will inprove that,other than holdingthe h/brake on while you raise engine revs in drive --and thats not good for the g/box
