    Can I put 195/50 on a 185 wheel?

not sure mate, 195 is the width so it would look a bit bulky if you did. probably best to put the correct tyre on there

I think you can do it just not advisable

on a 14 x6j its doable on vt model and with mods on a flat arch
i run 195/50 on my 15x6j mos and there fine after ive removed the bumper brackets
on a flat arch they will scrub on the lip in the arch though and also catch the rear bumper brakets if its as low as your signature

    i thought 205 gti 1.9's come with 185 55 15 as standard but people put 195 45 15 on them?

actually they normally go to 195/50s
but the 205 arch doesnt come down the side of the tyre like the flat arch saxos

iv seen 205 gti alloys with 195/50's and they do come standard with 185/55? do they fit on to vtr's without taking the wheel arch linings out?

    not if its lowered man
i run 195/50 yokohama prada spec 2s on my vtr lowerd 50 mm and had to remove the arch liners and trim the bumper braket to stop the scrubbing
