what a great day ive had..

my 1.1 has had a bad day. First i found out that my wheel bearings are squeeking and my brakes need replacing, guess what else has come along to top all that off... head gasket has blown.

now i have a 1.6 vtr that needs some work so what i was thinking is change everything over into my 1.1 with all the problems but what would i need to change over to acheive a full engine convertion?

Sure your brake pads don`t just need copper slip on them this could be why your getting a squeeking sound.

it could be but my brakes are very spongy aswell?
is an engine convertion hard to do?

Depends if you know any mechanics or not. Changing a bulb wouldn't be sufficient. But say changing a clutch or gearbox and you will have a fighting change.

i have a years experiance from college and a couple of mates that are in the trade to help me and also got all the parts i need as i know of? can anyone give me a list i would have to change out of a 1.1 to change it to a 1.6?

I think your going to struggle, your struggling to spell conversion so i hate to think about doing a conversion. I done college and passed all the mechanics but it don't mean you can change an engine as the crap they learn you is nothing like modern cars i.e setting up the carb and points on a 1970-80s ford pinto engine.............

my spelling is pretty poor mate haha looks like im just going to have to get a 1.1 engine and just do a straight swap.

will a 1.4 engine be a stright swap for a 1.1 because im seeing alot of parts that will fit both cars such as injectors for example?
