does a mk1 front bumper fit a mk2 car?

    as the title says, I need a new bumper! Are the Mk1 and Mk2 bumpers the same? and how much am I looking to pay for a second hand bumper?

    Yes they do & prices vary a lot so check ebay.

    yh they do and try pistonheads they have a few cheap ones on every now and again

    alrite lads the mk1 bumpers DO NOT fit a mk2 i did it today and the parts are completely diffrent to attach the bumper and when you try to fit a mk1 to a mk2 part of the bumper will dig into your tyre so you cannot put a MK1 on an MK2 i spent 3 hours trying to do it sumway this morning so i spent £45 for no reason and trusted this site for no reason!

    the bumper on my mk2 vts is from a mk1, and fitted perfectly. saxp is right.

    you must have done something terribly wrong to scrape the bumper on the wheel

    the part that went into the bumper slot was too big for the hole on the mk2 body work,maybe he changed the clips i dont know if this is the case im sorry for my last comment but my mates been a mechanic for 15 years and he tryed for hourse it just wasent going onto the car mate

    Yes a standard mark 1 bumper does fit the mark 2.

    Just seen your last post, feel abit harsh with my above picture now lol. Dave, If you get picture's i'll help you out and tell you where you are going wrong. Are they standard bumpers you are trying to swap over?

    lol its cool mate im not trying to kick up a stir im just abit stressed out i had a minter 2000 mk2 possi blue completely standard no scratches and the body was perfect 68k on the clock had it for a week then my mate crashed it when he had a little go bent the steering column into a boomerang it needs new drivers side side skirt new front bumper and new front passenger side arch now ive fixed the mechanical part of the car i just cant find a possi blue front bumper :@ ill try and get some photos of the bumper and ive attached a pic of the car before we sorted the steering column cheers guys

    bad times, if you werent so far away from be id give you a hand as they do fit providing you have the correct fitting etc

    Hello mate. I put a 106 quicksilver 1.4 gearbox on my 1.6 vtr and its a hell of alot quicker on acceleration because of the different gear ratios!!!
