Fuel sender Unit

   i have a saxo VTR 1999... the petrol gauge is not workin so i have no idea how much fuel i have... i have been told the sender unit may be the culprit..
   
   i have seen a sender unit for sale on ebay but its comes from a P reg saxo... just wondering if they are different with ages or models?

   have a look at your sender unit - make sure the metal contacts are together if not, bend the float slightly so its making constant contact

   no worries !!! It's what happened to mine, turned out to be pretty simple !

   i was readin through a haynes manual earlier after speaking to you and it ses once the sensor unit has been removed u must replace the seal for a NEW one.... is this actually neccessary? or is it just bascially them covering their ass?
   
   If you do need to get a new seal do you know where to get em from.. or where is best to get em from?
