Engine number vs. engine code

   Hi, I have a bit of an odd query but I'm hoping someone can help me understand.
   
   I have a citroen saxo VTR 1.6i, which according to the haynes has an engine code of TU5JP (NFZ). However, the engine number on the V5 I have just received reads FX1Z.......
   
   Is the FX saying its actually an NFX engine code? or is the engine number not at all related to the engine code for the vehicle?

   Engine code is just the code that identifies the engine size etc.
   The engine number is basically the engine's serial number (unique to every engine).
