Changing my vtr engine

   Alright peeps, I have a 1.6 Saxo Vtr Mk2, but i wanna change the engine or make the car alot faster than it is already on top speed and acceleration.
   
   I need some pointers on what to get for it and/or what to do to it, so it thrashes the other cars round here lol.

   Depends on your budget realy. You could put a vts engine in it?
   
   Or if you dont realy care about luxury, just strip it out. Free performance gains!

   I wouldnt consider anything bigger than 1.6 tbh. It will be too heavy and struggle round the corners. Aslo a lot more work required. VTS conversion would be what i'd reccommend. With modifications will be soooo much quicker than a VTR

   thanks lads, is it a big jump from a vtr to a vts then?
   
   and i saw your info Ryan see what you mean by the cat on the exhaust and that i havent really had a good look at mine yet lol, got it 3 months ago the problem is i get bored very easy, so im always looking for other things to do lol, i dont want to put a bigger engine in really it is quick, but just lacking in places ya know

   not a major diff imo, with a few exhaust an intake mods a vtr shud b able to keep with a standard vts, if not b quicker mate, providing u can drive!! ha

   i spose i can drive lol, i cant really be the judge imo lol, anything i can do to it before i start buying things, i mean tweeks to anything etc. i wanna play without making it go tits up tbo lol, im a noob at all this and its my only car lol.

   haha a vts wud easily beat a vtr with exhaust and intake mods.. u dont get 22bhp from exhaust and intake! wak a vts lump in and cam it with a remap and u will beat most cars mate!

    Hate to say it mate but theres atleast 10 threads a day about VTS conversions, you'll find out all you need to know by searching. Pay for membership and start looking in the for sale section, people often sell all the bits to convert as a kit. As for "is it a big jump VTR 2 VTS",, its worth while put it like that.
