Welded Exhaust?

  1. #1
    Heloooo,
Plan was to fit my exhaust tomoz, but dad has just had a quick look while at work and he said the centre pipe looked welded to cat.

Is this normal and how do i go about getting it off and fitting the new one?
I have a clamp for the backbox onto the centre pipe and hangers for the back box and there a hanger welded onto the centre pipe.

    Thanks

ye cut the ting off with a grinder with a decent big disk and then u shud b able to get joiners frm any tyre/exhaust centre

ok thanks mate, how do the joiners work?

its basically a straight piece of pipe about 5-6 inches long with a slightly smaller diameter so that it can slide into the two pieces of original exhaust that u cut, its got an exhaust clamp on each end to tighten everyting up!!

on my corsa i just chopped off as close to exhuast as possible then get abit of replacement pipe attatch new exhaust and clamped it on

have you got the right "cat back" exhaust for your year of car?

vtr have 2 different types.. as some have the cat in the manifold.(think like yours)

others (older ones) have the cat under the car...
