all cars hav either a chain or a belt man, they both serve the same purpose to conrol the opening an closing of the valves in the cylinder head an to keep time so that the valves open at the rite time as not to smash into a piston an yea ur sax has a belt on the drivers side of the engine to the right of the ecu under a black plastic cover, ur not a retard man we all started somewhere

ye man get it replaced if u dnt hav any service history, ur best off replacing the water pump at the same time as its driven off the timing belt, jst to save u having to go back thru it all if the pump fails at a later date, and ul need 2 relace the belt tensioner aswel as the ball bearings in them go to shit on some occasions, parts alone shudnt cost any more than £60-£70. if ur getting a garage to do it the laybour is wat will kill u man so mayb u knw a mechanic or sumbody on here cud do it in the cheap as a nixer ha id offer to do it but i live in paddyland!!
