As i was driving back from college today i noticed that when i was rolling down a hill in 5th my car seemed to not be rolling smoothly. It felt like the car was braking ever so slightly every now and again, just didnt feel right. Anyone else get this or do i have a problem somewhere? Cheers

#7you can sort of tell when you brake apparantly my mate sed it felt ever so slightly brake was trying to push back up when he pushed down... not sure though could be wrong.

#8Jesus im guessing if they are warped there going to fail an MOT?
-
#9just change the discs?? cheap enough
-
#10How much am i looking at? I need to change the rears aswell
-
#11depends on how cheap discs you want you could probably get 4 for about 50 but cheapest of cheap though then theres fitting id just take it garage to make sure its that first..

#12I was thinking of taking the car to one of the garages which do free brake tests. Anyone used these tests before?
-
#13yeah i used the free brake check. but sometimes they will lie to get business. do them yourself. easy job just follow the guides on here mate
-
#14Yee id more or less expect them to lie as the test is free lol. Il take it down to them anyway and see what they say. Then ill follow the guide on here and have a look for myself. cheersQuote:yeah i used the free brake check. but sometimes they will lie to get business. do them yourself. easy job just follow the guides on here mate

#15Jack the car up & rotate the wheel or disc (with wheel off) It will suddenly "grab" the disc slightly, and would generally indicate disc warped. If only one is warped grab a pair (If you're other two have plenty of meat on them) to save a little money. Always replace in pairs front two or rear two, and it's best to buy both pads & disc rather than just changing just disc.

#16spin the wheel if it rubs ar a certain point then its warped, if its rears drive along n lift the hand brake slightly
