Changing wheel bearing?

  1. #1
Is it simple enough? how do you get the old one out?

    cheers

Have to get the old one's pressed out, and new one's pressed back in.

Maybe cheaper to buy 2 struts with good working bearings.

    Like i've just done, 2xStruts 2xtrackrod ends 2xspax -40 springs - £80.

well tbh i got these 2 rallye struts for free from a mate so might as well use them, one of them is fine but just noticed some play in the other today - might just take it to the garage in the week - its allready off the car with no disks springs or calipers so shouldnt be to hard for a garage to do, just worried about how much they'll charge, but for peice of mind its worth it

anyone got a rough idea what a garage will charge with it being just a bear strut with no brakes or springs? roughly?
  5. #5
I took 2 struts and 2 bearings down to my local garage, they only charged me £10 to press out the old and in with the new bearings.

Give your local garages a phone and see what prices they can do it for.

can i not just replace the bearings or do i have to replace the whole hub?
