Yet another that wont start in the cold

    Alright,
2001 vtr having trouble starting. It always seems to occur when it has been left for more than 6hrs. The engine turns over but never fires up. Once i have jump/bump started, it will then fire up as normal if not left for too long. I have had altenator and battery checked and are fine.
Any help would be much appreciated..

Crank sensor is a good place to start, it is found on the front of the bell housing pretty much under the thermostat housing. Remove and check, might just be pitted and need a clean but more likely will be deaded.

Won't be alternator or battery if the engine is turniong over on the key.

Also worth changing the Green sensor, this tells the ecu when engine is cold/hot. If ecu does not know then it will not be giving rich starting mixture for cold starts.

Hope this helps you both out. Good luck
