supersprint manifold

i have just bought a supersprint manifold for my vts which comes in 2 pieces is it necessary to get it welded or can you get a good seal just using sealant?

If it's anything like my mates supersprint, it should be a sleeved joint, so you can get a seal by bolting it together as it comes

couldnt welding disturb air flow from the inside?

Definitely get it welded, I had an 8V Supersprint and it always seemed to blow at that joint. Just make sure the sleeve is pushed on as far as possible before welding, place some wood over the flange and hammer it on if need be - just stops the whole of the exhaust system being pushed back.

i thought of that but is it a consideration when making a high end manifold? probably not.
my 42" tv would be easier for sony to ship if it was in 2 21" pieces, i might suggest this to sony lol

mines bolted together and is fine

Should seal together fine if you are using the correct clamps and sealant. Dont use the paste style sealant. Use VHT Silicone.
