Asked this a couple of times now but no-one replies!
When my car is running all the lights, dash, interior, exterior, they all dim and flicker. When you rev the engine the lights go brighter and flicker quicker.
Is this an alternator problem?
My alternator is not the original one, on the wiring that goes to the alternator there is an electrical plug, but there is nowhere on the alternator to plug it in to. Have i got the wrong alternator on the car?
Or could it be the battery? Would a simple battery test prove its not?
Also, the power steering pump is on its way out, sometimes it works straght away, sometimes after a few mins on the road and sometimes i have to whack it, this also causes the lights to flicker worse when the pump trys to start but keeps stopping until it finally gets going, can hear it whining until it gets going properly.
Or any other suggestions?
