Important! : Driveshaft Problem!

    Alright people,

    I got a new driveshaft fitted just before Christmas, this was the front left one. It was making a terrible noise as I drove my car, but then it was fine after the new one was fitted.

    But now, the right one now needs to be replaced with a new one - Is it normal for them both to go in such a short period of time?

    Also, how much should I expect to pay from a little garage for the part and fitting? I paid £183.13 for my left one to be done.

    Logically they would both wear at the same rate so I would agree they would both go at around the same milage.

    £183.13 to supply and fit doe snot sound that bad. Consider shaft is about £80.00 IIRC, gearbox oil another tenner and an garage labour. Saves you scrabbling around on a wet floor on Sunday afternoon, light fading, covered in grease and wondering how you will get to work the next day.

    However if you have a decent toolkit and time themn go for it, it's not a complicated job just can be a bit hard if your not handy with a spanner.

    Aye, well I've rang the garage and they said the right one probaly wont cost as much as the left, so thats a good thing

    Also, I know fuck all about changing car parts haha! And I don't have to the tools to do it, so the garage it is!
