engine cutting out

    a girl i know bought a W reg 1.1 saxo. last night it drove fine for a while and then just cut out, and when trying to start it again it was like it wasnt getting a spark and kept turning over but not willing to start, then once started and left idling it was ok, and when she went back out in it it drove for a couple of minutes and cut out again and wasnt willing to start again, then once bumped it drove again for a few minutes then cut out again, any ideas what this could be??

    If no spark look at coil pack or crank sensor

    not being funny but how much petrol is in it??? if its low the petrol cud b sloshing over the tanks feed, hense why it wud stop while moving but then start when stopd

    dodgy fuel pump most likely if wehen it conks out u hit your fuel pump a few times and it starts again thats prob problem

    Next time it doesn't work, take a hair dryer to the HT leads, if it then works, you need new ht leads had the same problem

    cool thanks guys we changed over the fuel pump today so will see how it goes

    sounds like the plugs my mates done exactly the same turned out to be badly burnt out plugs

    take out and clean the idle control valve could be the problem
