mk1 morette wiring

  1. #1
anyone got any pics on mk1 morette wiring, guessing the outer light contains side light and main beam, what are the inner ones for?
  2. #2
my outside ones have a hole in the bottom for the sidelight, and then the main bulb in it does both beams.

Don't know what inner do, maybe can put the sidelights in them ?

the inners are blank as far as i know. wire in some extra bulbs?

and yea, the outer one just uses the standard loom AFAIK

right so the outside ones have a sidelight in the bottom which uses standard connector, then has main bulb which uses standard connector to do main and dipped beam, then the motor uses standard connector aswell? going to use one inner as a intake and then might wire the other upto main beam or dipped, is this legal?

I have mine set up so the inside set do my main beam and the out side ones do side. think thats how i have done them lol

Outer ones do sidelight and dipped beam

Then inner ones come on (outers stay on too) when switching to full beam so that all 4 are full lit on main beam

100w bulbs are nice on the inner ones for driving down lanes

ahh, never knew that. i got told that they were empty!

so you put the usual H4 into the outer one which does both?

yep outer one contains the sidelight

Your existing headlight plug then goes onto the bulb for the outer. There are 3 wires that come off that plug

On the inner light there should be 2 wires that come out of the back of the unit

At this point its worth mentioning that all the massive bundle of wires etc that come with morettes new are totally unnecessary as the standard car loom already has everything there

Now with the 2 wires that come out of the back of the inner light one is for earth purposes so link that to the earth one on the plug thats plugged onto the outer bulb

Then the other wire needs to be connected to the live feed going to the outer bulb when full beam is turned on

So outer light has all of the usual dipped and full beam functions, then when full beam is turned on the inner light also turns on.

Hopefully that doesnt sound to complex, ill take a pic of the back of my lights when my cars back from having some work done

Also, make sure when you bridge the two wires across from the centre lights, to the outter lights for main beam, make sure you put a relay in there,

otherwise you will just burn out your wiring,
