I bought a west coast last month that had failed the mot on quite a few things, so i fixed it up and put it in for an MOT yesterday but it failed again on quite a few things!!
it had origionally failed its emissions test on high CO, high HC and low lambda. I changed the lambda for another one and also noticed the timing was out by a tooth (causing it to run rough and very rich)
Yesterday it failed its emissions on High CO and high Lambda, so the results seem to have reversed for the lambda. It passed the HC however. Would you assume this is the CAT that now needs replaced?
Are there any sensors that could cause the emissions to run high?
It also failed on rear brake juddering on both wheels. I had cleaned up the drums and pads etc but couldnt see any faults with the rear drums. Has anyone incountered this problem before? The shoes have plenty of meat left on them and the drums dont seem too worn. I was going to try new drums and see if that helped but if it doesnt i dont know where the problem could lie.
It also failed on a front balljoint which it never failed on last time but the guy must of missed it then. Are these easy enough to replace?
Any info much appreciated.
Thanks
Daniel
