please help power steering pipe has gone !!

  1. #1
I was driving home the other day and my power steering suddenly stopped working. Got home to find that the track rod end had been rubbing against the pipe causing it to split. Since then I have replaced the pipe (90 quid from citroen! ) and slighty repositioned and bent it away from the track rod end, only for the same thing to happen again! If anybody could give me any advice on how to get round this problem it would be greatly appreciated. Or is there any places in the south that would bend such a pipe. Thanks in advance guys.

possibly use a suitable flexi hose, and fasten it away from the track rod end.

this is a very common problem for lowered saxo's where the pipe has not been bent.

Will definitely try that, but how would I connect the screw thing (sorry) onto the end of the flexi hose?

Bend it further away from the track rod next time! Maybe you can get another pipe from the scrappers instead of paying citroen prices hopefully. As above flexi sounds like a good idea but when you get some pressure in it it could burst or come off the metal pipe.

Hope you get it sorted out okay

Thanks stevo, yeah Citroen prices are extortionate hate buying from them. I'm just a bit weary of creasing the pipe but ill try bending one from a scrappy. Cheers
