The time has come to change my front pair of tyres but i realised last night that i have a locking wheel nut on my VTS alloys. The tool/key wasnt passed on to me when i bought the car. Do all VTS alloys have the same locking nut and if so the same tool to get them off? Ive rang up various tyre garages and they want £20 a wheel to get the nut off!! I really dont want to be paying that lol.

#2Same thing happened to me, brayed a socket over it and too it off that way, took 5 mins and saved me £20 (y)

#3yeah i hammered an 18mm socket over one of my locking wheel nuts

#5all locking wheel nuts are different. at our place we just charge labour for removing the nuts. they shouldnt take any longer than 5mins each. 20quid per wheel is an complete joke tbh

#6Ok so i just hamer on a 18mm socket over the nut and loosen as normal?

#8or jus go to the scrappy n they mite have the locking nut that fits your bolt i went n they had a box full ov em only charged me 2 quid
