Nope not the Alternater Belt, i know what that sounds like.... Well... I can't remember well... But i had My Cambelt changed about 3 months ago... and i'm fairly sure it wasn't making that noise before... Pehaps like above... Too much tension ?

Ive been having this noise... and i now believe its the alternator due to the fact of driving home all warm singing along and foomf all dials and lights battery light flies on music goes but the car still run

got it in tried starting gone... so this morning went out and starts come off the revs and it dies. spoken to a few they say its the alternator, guy from the garage coming today now

just try dipping the clutch when its ticking over whilst the noise is there and see if it goes of if it does and then comes back on when you release it then it is your thrush bearing as that sounds like a belt sqealing

ahhh thats what i've been doing wrong all the years, i have heard corsa owners creaming the tailpipe and windscreen must be why they drive like so eratically when they haven't had their daily canesten.
