#2i have the same problem after doing my conversion did you find out what this was??????
-
#3was there a fix for this
-
#4Its usually the loom if its been done on a conversion
Check everything is plugged right, if so might be a change of loom -
#5what other loom can i use?
-
#6I think its just a knackered loom, not the fact its wrong.
Mate of mine had a fookload of trouble with his doing the same, got a new loom and fit it and worked fine -
#7nice is ther any way i can repair the loom i just want the temp of the car coz i cant tell weather its overheating or not lol
-
#8I'm not sure if you can repair them tbh as i'm not really sure what the cause is. I aint speaking from 1st hand experience and don't wanna lead either of you down the wrong path, but seeing as nobody has replied

But ye, mate just replaced the loom and everything worked fine. He has done alot of these conversions and come accross that problem twice so it's a good chance
Don't hunt me down if im wrong though

#9Okay bud cheers i will get a video as my oil warning light is flicking like it picking up feedback from the engine and all the lights are on light the battary, hand break, abs but thats coz vtr's dont have abs it looks like a bad earth but i have cleaned them all

#12I know this is a long time since the last post did anyone sort it as i am having this problem aswell now.
-
#13Bump anyone
-
#14It was different looms I had a crossover vtr loom and had a normal 3 plug vts engine loom check see if the pins match on the muiltplug
-
#15do you mean the multiplug in the engine bay on the passenger side or the one behind the dash near the fusebox
-
#16i have had a look there is a couple that dont go for coulour to colour do i just cut and splice these so they all match
-
#17on the engine bay one there is loads that dont go coulour for coulour does this mean i need to join all them up coulour for coulour.
-
#18They need to be connected but I don't know if there Color to Color get autodata or if you lucky enough someone might give you a list of which wires to put together but I never found someone to help me mate so food luk
-
#19ok what exactly did you do to your again mate.
-
#20Little late, but the interior connections are not the same! as a example the Oil wire is on the 16V loom first on the second row of connectors.
On the 1.4 loom it is somewhere in the middle..
If there is no info about it i am fixing this tomorrow on my own engine, if i have time left i will make a small how-to. -
#21Please post your findings. I just did a reshell of a rallycar and put a 2000 single plug 16V engine into what i think was a 2002 silver top 3 plug shell. I used the 2002 loom that was in the shell, and now no dials are working, alternator light stays on, and temp dials not working either. I would like this fixed, as i'm not really in the mood for changing the entire loom :-)

#22Same problem for me but ive not done any work to the car its just happened overnight, any ideas???
