Coolant temp sensor

Our 1.1 has always had a 'bouncy idle' when warmed up, doesn't really do any harm but gets a bit annoying sitting in traffic.

I've narrowed it down to the coolant temp sensor but I'm pretty sure the car has two - one in the top of the thermostat housing, and another which goes into the right-hand side of the head. Which one sends the signal to the ECU? Can it be changed without coolant pissing out?

    Cheers

Its the one going into the thermo housing you need to change. Shouldnt piss out no.. mine didnt. Just take the cap off the expansion tank on the rad when you do it. Swap it over as quick as poss. Shouldnt need bleeding.

Not sure about Saxos but on my engine when I changed the CTS, coolant didn't piss out because the thermostat will be closed.

As above its the one in the thermostat housing. You will loose a bit of water but there wont be floods of it, just swap them over as fast as you can.

Leave the rad cap on as it seals the system making it harder for the water to escape, and id bleed it from the thermostat bleed screw just to be safe.
