Braking Noise

    Alright..

What causes a wheel to squeek when driving then when braking its a loud rubbing noise ?

Is it the disc is buckled ?

    Cheers

hello, obvious answer, but have you checked your brake pads and maybe cleaned them out?

strip calipers down, clean up pads 'feet' copper grease back up and reassemble, if no luck youve got a buckled disc check the condish of the disc and pads when stripped down also check wheel bearings for the squeak, Hope this helps pal!

just had the bearing changed mate never made a noise till i got the work done but.. Took it back to garage and they stripped the wheel and gave it a clean reassembled and it was still squeeking & making a rubbing noise when braking so look like a new set of discs?

also they jacked the car up and got the front wheels spinning and says the callipers looked as though they were being moved with the disc and the wheel was slightly wobbling? So this defo sounds like a disc just gonna go buy a set and wanted to make sure. cheers

If the wheel was wobbling too I'd suspect the hub is fucked.

What would cause the sqeeking noise when driving? Also when i just lightly press the brakes the squeeking gets louder then if i press the brakes a bit harder it makes a loud rubbing sort of sound

    ***Update***
New discs & pads never worked still rubbing & squeaking constant..

Car was fine till the garage tampered.

What could be the cause? It was a wheel bearing change the garage were doing.. Can something be misaligned to cause this ?

Also my car never made this sound till they tampered.. Bit of a coincidence

Like I said. The hub. The wheel wobbling was much of a giveaway.

Should have checked before fitting the new discs tbh... But some people won't listen.

The garage either haven't fitted the bearing correctly or they've fucked the hub up in doing so.

New bearing and hub kit is no doubt required now.

I will get the car jacked up today and have a decent look mate..

Much do you reckon a new hub & bearing included would cost ?
