Need Help with scratches and dents

    Hey people

A few days ago some arsehole chav thought it would be funny to kick my passenger side mirror off (and the mirrors of 5 other cars on my street) as he walked home from the pub. As i wasnt in at the time i couldnt beat him to death but now i just want to repair my car a.s.a.p. I have already purchased a new mirror with base plate etc but want to know how to fix the rest.

My car now has a minor dent in the drivers side door panel (approx 7mm in depth) and, what im most concerned about, several quite deep scratches in the paint work just below the mirror.

I have seen various different scratch repair paste's & scratch repair kits but wanted to know :

    1. Do they actually work ?
    and
    2. What is the best product to buy ?

    Cheers
    Jake

hey, i have heard that rubbing dry ice over a dent pulls it back into shape.
not sure if it works 100% but anythings worth a try, if you do use dry ice make sure you use it lightly so you dont scratch the paint work.

T cut and such things arent very good for deep scratchs. Are the scratchs on the drivers door only. If so then you could always try a quote from a local body repair shop and see if they can ping the dent out and respray the door?

Yes the scrathes are below the mirror, by the looks of it as the mirror was kicked off it scratched the door as it swung around. Thought of using t-cut but was told its useless against deep scratches which is why i thought maybe paste would be better for filling the scratches then use a touch up pen to cover the filler ?

    Cheers for your help people

As said above, T-cut for the scratches, as for the dents tho, if its on the door then try taking the doorcard of and lightly pushing the dent out. wont make it 100% perfect but will make it better then before. worked on my mates saxo, some pr1ck kicked in the 3/4 panel and just taped it out slowly. but for the perfect finish, bodyshop pal
