Important! : Back Axle Help Needed!

  1. #1
    Alright guys,

Had 2 new driveshafts fitted at the garage and they advised that I'm going to need a whole new back axle as the bearings have fused to the axel on one side.

I want to know if I can pick up an exle cheap - IMAxle does a re-conditioned one for £275, is that cheap?

And how hard/expensive would it be to fit?

    Thanks.

If you pay £10 premium on saxp then you would save £25 with club discount so youll have premium member and also save £15 on the axle!

Works out at £225 with exhcnage of your beam and the discount. They sort out all the collectiong and delivery of new beam for £18.

    Cheers mate,

What about fitting it? Would that be an easy thing to do if someone who knew a little bit about cars went to do it?

My girlfriends dad has fitted a back axle before, but that was on a trailer.. Any major difference?

Also, your in Nottingham, so wouldn't be prepared to travel that for for a fitting, thanks though

no problem! best way to do it is fit your hubs etc first, then its like 4 bolts into the car, and then attach your brake pipes and bleed!

That makes no sense to me, but thanks

So to get £25 off, I'd need to take my axle off and send it to you?
