Major issue!!! Bolt Sheared off in Rear axle!!

Went to tighten up my arb plates today, got the drivers side sorted, but as soon as i touched the passengers side, the head of the bolt just sheared off! im now stuck and dont know what to do with it. Help much appreciated

Hi mate, either try get the snapped bolt out! or if its solid, drill out the hole and retap it to a bigger thread and use a bigger bolt

that is solid in there. Ive drilled the hole but not sure on how to retap, i have a tap and die kit, i just need to know how to do it lol. how much would a garage charge to retap it?

you just get the right size tap, and screw it into the hole, as you would a normal bolt, then undo it once done

i did this while i was tightening it. i drilled a small hole halfway down the bolt, and used one of those extractor kits from ebay/halfords/b&q and it just winded straight out

iv gone past that stage now, i have already drilled a hole ready to start to try and tap it. I think im going to have a bash at it now, thanks for the help guys

if you feel the tap tightening up, just wind it back a bit and then go again, be pretty gentle with it!

Just had a bash at re-tapping the axle/trailing arm. After being very careful i have managed to get it sorted

What would i do without Sax-p?? lol. Thanks again for your help
