ticking noise? inlet manifold?

hey i have a ticking noise i had my tappets reset not long ago and i dont think its that this time basicly it sounds to me like its coming from the inlet manifold could it need cleaning and can it even be making a ticking noise. i have had power issues where it looses its power in low revs could it be part of the same thing?

or could be throttle body its deffinatly coming from there any ideas what it might be? and could it have anything to do with my loss of power

Hmmm Spark plugs? Power loss could lead to that, Give the ICV and Throttle bodie a clean.

spark plugs are new okay thanks mate will get them cleaned is it easy or best if i get someone to do them.

Realll easy, Undo the 3 bolts Alan key if i remember, Un clip the throttle cable and i think a blue or grey Plug. It's then free, Then at the back of the TB there the ICV held on with 2 Torx screws, take it out, spray loads of Carb cleaner on the ICV and TB butterfly housing, wipe, and replace

10 min job

okay mate ile give that ago over the weekend see what its does it idlkes fine though just looses power sometimes on acceleration really anoying also could it stop the ticking or do you think that might be soemthing else?

Well cleaning would be a start, The power loss is what i had, Changed the Cat Converter And it went!

Could try that , although that's the expensive solution, Could try cleaning the Spark plug case what ever it's called...

Tapping noise AHH just remembered you sure it's from the Inlet mani? As my Cat sounded like it was tapping and got louder whilst Accelerating... Give your exhaust a few bangs mate see if it makes the noise, as bits of the old cat break up and sit in the CAt

i dont have a cat mate and its deffinatly not exhaust related as i was trying to see if it was the exhaust when i noticed the sound coming from inlet mani its quite a load tapping and mostly noticeably when its cold its not tappets. hmmm fuking pain in the ass whish i knew more about engines

I thought that ticking is normal Ive heard it on a lot of engines, tis the injectors

might be normal but it wasnt doing it before and if so not as bad as it is now as its quite load i can hear it in built up areas almost sounds like a blowing rough sound.

IF it's a blowing sound, which mine also does, could be that air is escaping through the air box housing to where it meets the Throttle body

yeah possibly will try and find out sounds more lyk blowing in a built up area when im driving but when idling sounds like a tapping

First thing I'd suggest is to check that the plugs are all tight.
