Good front discs and pads for the VTR that will handle track conditions well but not be too outragous for every day use.

I want something that will see me round the track at FCS and then a trp to the 'Ring

    mintex everytime

tbh any mintex brakes are decent, its what i used to use for mine before i got the wilwoods

    Any in particular?

Was thinking about the omp discs with redstuff pads

i use standard discs all round, m1144 pads and braided lines castrol srf fluid and im happy and will be doing fcs and 8 laps of the ring in june. im sure they will be ample.

i honestly cant see the point of these people putting massive brakes on their road car. it wont make them stop any quicker lol

Purely speculation but im sure i've heard a few bad words said about the omp discs!

EDIT: F*ck scratch that, im thinking of the clutches lol

I'm using the kam racing 1144 mintex kit very good when warm and very good from cold I'd use some decent disks like the omp or maxtorq and some 1155's though if your trying to stop 200bhp on 247's

Some RC5+ from CL brakes would be my personal choice for a mixture of road and track

We supply the CL brake range to quite a few race teams and use them ourselves - only had positive feedback on the performance. Unlike most brake pads which are optimised for a certain temperature range the Carbone Lorraine will work at any temperature.

They are not too aggressive a compound so the wear rate is quite good. Its a tricky one to comment on as everyone drives differently but they are pretty good from my own testing on a daily drive. The other benefit is they do not coat the discs with brake material so you dont risk brake judder.

Eeek, just looked at the price of the CL kit!

For not a lot more I can get a set of Hi Spec midis!

Let me re-phrase my original request - What would people recommend up to say £130 for the front set up (not too concerned about rear as I have new discs and 1144s on the back

That price is for fronts and rears + discs. The Carbone Lorraine and Maxtorq for the front is £117 inc vat

    Phew, that's better!

Best option for the price then, would you say?

They are more expensive but I've not found something cheaper that compares really. I dont want to compromise my braking at low temperatures for high performance after a few laps. They give really good bite from the off which gives you confidence from the moment you drive. I fit them to my cars and use them daily and I wont fit anything else

That'll do for me. Expect to see my order when I'm not on the mobile
