What do you mean by flat? Most boxes are fine on the VTR, with some giving better acceleration and some better top end, but all of these boxes shouldnt really make her feel 'flat'. If you definitly know its the gearbox it may possibly be a diesel box? If your not totally sure its the box a simple service could make your car feel a lot more alive.

If you saying it feel flat becouse it dosent pick up so quick then, your wrong.

The VTR is the longest box, if its got the wrong box on it will make it more livley and accelarate quicker.

The early VTR boxes are longer in 1st and second, then 3rd,4th,5th are the same. The later VTR boxers were slightly shorter though.

by flat i mean from first gear it will rev up to around 3k then drop to zero and start agen . and all the other gears thereafter are just really slow in building speed. ive never had it above 90mph downhill!

At 3k does it hit like a rev limiter?

If it hits like a fake rev limiter then get the car on a diognostics as there will be a problem there in the errors. Costs £40 from most independent private garages. Citroen charge £90ish but they have much better equipment and can tell you the problem in alot more detail and how to cure it.
