Road crack/ Pot hole Damage.. Can i claim ?

   Today i was driving down the road (as you do) and i went down the biggest crack in the road ive ever seen. It wasnt even just a hole, The Only way i can describe it is by saying its a massive foot wide/Deep crack in the road.. across the width of the road, Which means it was very difficult to avoid once i spotted it... I cringed when my car went BOOM ! as i drove over it.
   My problem is that immediately since that happened ive had mojor knocking from my front. Like rattling shafts or something.
   If i take a picture of this crack in the earth , Can i make a claim against the council for the cost of the repairs, Cause i presume im going to have to have my drive shafts or wishbones replaced as that crack has probably shot one (or both) of them to pieces.
   How would i go about this.. ?

   Go back and take some pictures asap mate - put a ruler or tape measure next to the crack to give an indication of its size. Note the road etc. and get a letter sent in to the local council.
   
   Will also be worth having the car checked out to see the extent of the damage. If you get a written quotation for the work, send that with the letter.

   imo...doubtfull.
   there is not solid evidence that was the cause of damage. unless several people claim...
   we all know what the goverment are like...cunts.
   
   so my hole in the sump was because of this frikkin crack!

   the last thing i want to do is report it and then have them come and repair it tomorrow then deny it was ever there lol.... I wouldnt mind if it was avoidable but its literally across the whole road like an earthquake crack... Sounds a bit OTT but i kid you not its bloody ridiculous. I know i cant prove it was that crack that done it but it was as soon as i went bang over it that i had symptoms of rattling shafts or ball joints.... I havent even checked my tyre wall yet but i will do first thing... and im going to take a nice few pics too.
   It wouldnt surprise me if other people have attempted to claim on this pothole too.

   Get the necessary pictures ASAP before the council come along and fix it mate.

   A few people on here have had similar issues and have been succesful with a claim. As said you need to get pics as evidence a.s.a.p
