Saxo nooby , just passed test , wheel nut advice?

  1. #1
hey guys, my first post as iv only just got my saxo desire! being 19 and living in b31 area of birmingham , theres no way i could afford to insure a vtr, so i wanna do the best i can with what ive got.

anyway, iv brought a set of vtr alloys off ebay, just waiting for them to arrive, the wheel nuts need respraying and i was just wondering what you guys thought about me maybie spraying the nuts possy blue instead of standard silver to match the colour of my car!

would appreciate your thoughts on this tacky or stylish?

    cheers

    Andy

the paint on wheel nuts won't last them being tightened, it will chip and crack off, you need nut covers mate

good advice, then you can get the covers painted whatever colour you want and they wont be at risk of getting damaged

Silver would probably go better, but be different...why not!

Before you even get started: you need a 4 stud conversion on your car, or you won't be able to fit the vtr rims.

yeah i was thinking i might stand out abit more, considering my dads giving me shit about making any mods because of the insurance, small changes to begin with cheers alex

Are you using the standard wheel nuts that came with the desire? Im planning on changing my steel wheels to vtr alloys but i think i need to get 36mm flat head nuts... The ones on my car atm dont look long enough.

You're right, the standard nuts for the steelies will not work with either the PH1 or PH2 VTR wheels.

Depending what year the VTR wheels are off you will need different bolts. PH1 wheels are a straight bolt, PH2's use a stepped bolt.

I've just changed mine, 1.1 with VTR alloys, you need longer wheel nuts as the tyres are wider, lemme know and I know where you can get them new for £20

if you currently have tapered bolts (as you have steelies), and your fitting mk1 vtr alloys, then you will need to get a set of flat bolts not the tapered ones, should just get your self down to the scrappy with a wheel bar and nick a load of bolts!

They are mark 1 vtr alloys. I git em from the scrapys to start but we thought the 40mm bolts we got were to long. Does any one no what size hey shiuld be?
