Cant See ECU!

   Well basicaly on my gti, we cant see the ecu on the dio port..
   
   now i always thort that if you tryd starting the car and the imbolizer light flicks on dash that means its locked.. and in being locked the ecu wont be able to be seen/red..?
   
   No i dont have that light flashing but i cant see the ecu..
   
   have checked for volts in key places and have volts there.. but just not on the ecu side off things..
   
   Could the ecu be locked and the imbo light has been taken out?

   ecu fault?? mine decided it wasnt going to start again untill i reset it, maybe its just a computer fault of some kind ?! my immobiliser light flashes up when i turn the ignition on, and ive recently had the faults on the ecu reset after the inertia switch went off, and the car woulndt start, not sure matey strange one

   Well my car wont start thats the thing.. its been in the garage for about 3 weeks and they are pretty lost me thinks..
   
   think im just gunna have to hold off and wait for pred ecu lol..

   Either hold out for the pred ECU, or go to citroen. They will probs charge £120max but they will tell you what the deal is.

   its already in the garage, but they cant see the ecu therefor cant read the problems off it.. :|..
   
   i cant aford to go for pred ecu right now, and andy isnt getting any till 12th off march but need my car befor that tbh..

   Was it a citroen garage though or a smaller private independent one?

   citreon done a dio test and couldnt see it, they all use pretty much the same products to scan the ecu.. its currently in a smaller garage but they cant seem to fix it, but niether could citreon..

   I cant suggest any more then! Citroen use better equipment, and they aint as bad at their job as what poeple make out just costly. I would have thought they coulda sorted it.

    i booked it into citreon for a dio test and they come back with ''thats 70 pound son, and we couldnt read the ecu therefor we couldnt find any problems with your car''
    
    so to put it in nice words i said not good.
    
    if the ecu is locked will it be able to be seen?

    Youd have to speak to that ryan who does the ECU unlocking on here, he knows his stuff with ECUs. Il find his profile if u dont know who i mean?
    
    He was sayin the ECU wont send any feed out to coilpack and injectors if its locked. Theyre basically all the ECU controls the rest of the sensors are telling the ECU info. So if the ECU is failing to send out info to CP and Injectors then id GUESS it wouldnt send any info out to the diog port.
    
    However on the dash light, the dash lights up saying the ECU is locked OR Imob problem, so that would make me think it does send out info.
    
    Ask that Ryan guy anyway, he should be able to tell you.

    yeah ive been speaking to him, think im gunna get a unlocked ecy from him when he replys, ive got a funny feeling that the bulb on the dash has been removed/blown..
    
    so new ecu and see.. totaly out off ideas tbh, cheers for the help.
