Open induction + oil sludge in cold weather ?

    Anyone else suffering ?

Thought my head gasket was possibly leaking (Not clever as had top end rebuild inc new cam, rockers, gasket etc a few months ago).I had no water in the oil,oil in the water, sludge on dipstick etc but still 'worried' slightly......

Took rocker off today and apart from some light sludge under oil cap,and some stuck under the rocker cover all was good with nothing in the top end of the engine itself at all.

So i can only presume its due to an open induction kit, with 3 cold air feeds being the cause, coupled with short journey's to work and the recent cold weather.

Could it possibly be moisture being sucked in like you said on cold mornings and its just built up over a bit of time? Suppose way to test it is put the standard airbox on with standard feed and see if there is any diffrence.

is your oil breather blocked? i've had this and it was down to a blocked pipe between the rocker cover and the air intake

You better of vented your crankcase breather to atmosphere, get a little piperx or k&n filter for it, the only reasons they plumb them back into the intake is for emissions

Or one step further u can get an oil catch tank for both crankcase and cover venting
