#2No....it just removes surface contaminates, makes no difference to swirls.
Its just preparing the paintwork for polishing. -
#3No.
Those swirls you see are fine scratches, what you need is a polishing mop and some fine compound polish. -
#4does anyone have any suggestions on what compound? best makes etc etc
-
#5What you doing it by hand oir machine??
-
#6i saw some of this on CYC, was thinking about trying it myself:

#7Good stuff but you need to work down them 2.5 one then to the 1.0 then to a fine polish
ive used it and tbh its best used with machine, it says on the bottle you can use it by hand but you will be there quite a while
Best thing ive seen by hand is the megs 3 stage -
#8Very good polish..even when used by hand, use a m/f applicator to apply.Quote:i saw some of this on CYC, was thinking about trying it myself:

Note though that swirl removal is very hard by hand and you will not get a finish any where near as good as machine polishing. -
#9Okay cheers Pred
I also saw the Chemical guys all in one polish, how do people rate that for swirls and just in general? But then again i havent got a machine polisher:/
-
#10Ive used that by hand and it does remove swirls (yes remove not fill) with hard work........also contains a sealant as well to keep the surface protected.Quote:Okay cheers Pred

#163M for me

#17You have converted me to 3m pads (most of the time) but still prefer the Menz range of polishes.
-
#18gonna have to look into this stuff myself, my bonnet seems to have alot of swirls on it

#19yes it does it makes them stand out even more lols as you have removed the micronan particals of dirt within the swirl scratch marks lol.Quote:No....it just removes surface contaminates, makes no difference to swirls.
Its just preparing the paintwork for polishing.
so it does makea difference. a difference for the worse lol.
people who wash there cars then clay them then polish, gloss and wax seal them have not done a blind bit of difference to the car unless its done by a polisher. -
#20Not strictly true Martin as some polishes are quite good at swirl removal when done by hand.....admittedly its very hard work and not as good as a machine but it does make a difference.Quote:yes it does it makes them stand out even more lols as you have removed the micronan particals of dirt within the swirl scratch marks lol.

#21its only a slight difference though, to the extent its not worth the extra effort maybe on small panels yes but not a full car. you would use more product aswell overall compared to how a polisher would spread it a hell of alot more evenly.
