screwing starter motor back on

   changed my gearbox over yesterday and when i start car nothing happens but i can hear the motor working but wont turn over can someone help

   Does it make a higher pitched whining noise?
   
   Its more than likley the earth on your gearbox.
   
   Make sure the earth that comes out the main loom is connected to the gearbox as this will make a circuit with your Battery>starter motor>alternator as they are in the same circuit

   make sure the yellow and green wires are attached to the bolt on top of gearbox mate

   Not to sure, but could it be to do with the clutch alignment or something, maybe it somehow doesnt make contact with the flywheel correctly?

   took starter motor off and im now trying to put it back on but it wont sit flush on one of the holes theres like a pin but there isnt on the other bolt holes so its just that stopping it have i got it wrong way or something

   The solanoid should be at the top. with like the half moon at the back of the engine.
   
   Bolt at the top, bolt against the back of the engine bay and one at the bottom. One goes in from the egarbox side (top one) the other 2 go in from the engine side. All 13mm.
   
   3 wires on the starter motor. Positive from the battery, the thicker of the 2 from the loom with a 13mm but on. Other lil one goes on with an 8mm.
   
   Get the earth from the lil junction on the main loom and attatch this to the top of the gearbox.

   its powering the motor but im thinking because its not flush its not connecting with the flywheel but that f***in pins in the way and wont move

    When the starter motor was off did you try and start it? Did the lil sprocket spin?

    just tryed it yeah it spins round

    Can only suggest refitting it and see how it goes then.
