Saxo VTR - Whine

   Went and looked at a Saxo VTR tonight. 2001, 75,000 miles. Just a few queries...
   
   There was a whining noise coming from behind the dash when the engine was on, even when you revved it it didnt change.
   
   There was also an air bag warning light on.
   
   What would the whining be, or is it a common noise with the Saxo?

   was the heater blower on?? cud hav bin the matrix mate

   Nah, made sure i turned the heater off because that was my first thought...

   probs not this, but did it have bright blue "plasma" dials. They produce a high pitched whine when theyre switched on.

   heater blower motor is on its way out buddy.......

   Did you steer the steering wheel side to side? did the noise change?
