VTR Vibrations!

  1. #1
when driving last week, i pulled away slowly, there was a bit of a clunk and my vtr starting vibrating really badly, odly seems better at higher speeds than at 10-20mph. Checked round the car, 3 bolts for ecu mount were loose, tightened up and still not helped. can mount break internally? checked round other mounts/cv joints at gearbox/diff, no movement. found a small oil leak, maybe from d/shaft area when cars running, not sure where from yet. clutch operates smoothly, gearbox selects all gears fine, when i last drove the car there didnt seem to be any loss in power either. any help would be ace as i unfortunately may need to sell the car so rellay need to sort it asap,

    cheers

Look over the engine bay, get someone to sit in the car with it running, one foot on the brake, put it in gear then bring the clutch up quickly check for engine movement.

If the the ECU engine mount bolts were loose then its possible the bolt in the ECU mount has snapped which is common. Just take the mount off the car and check the 13mm that goes into the mount.

eBay or motor factors will sell them aswell as citroen/peugeot.

Also check lower engine mount for excessive play and the fork bush from the lower engine mount to the chassis of the car.

Poeple these days dont really care about weather its had new reconned parts on. Id expect £1300ish anyway. Some poeple will realise recon parts are an advantage though.
