Gearbox rattle...

   Hi guys,
   
   Since I bought my car a month or so ago it has developed a rattle, which seems to be getting progressively worse. I'm convinced it is coming from the gearbox area because I can feel the vibration through the gear stick. I've noticed that the rattle tends to disappear when not in gear and occurs most frequently when lifting my foot off the accelerator after a period of acceleration. It does not seem to be related to what my clutch foot is doing. Any ideas what might be causing this?

   could be a few things, namely your driveshafts or gearbox mount

   Exhaust touching gear linkage - worth a quick look to rule it out
