#2Have you checked the fuse and relay for the fan?

#3This happened to mine. It was the sensor at the top right of rad. If your fan kicks in as u said by connecting direct to the battery this is more likely. just unplug connector and replace sensor mine( is blue with a yellow ring). About £8 to replace. Coolant will come out so be quick then top up and bleed system so u don't get air leaks. hope this helps.

#4i tried bridging this sensor, surely it would of kicked in then if it was that sensor?Quote:This happened to mine. It was the sensor at the top right of rad. #6if that sensor on your rad is knackered your fan won't kick in. As this is the cooling fan switch.
-
#7yeah but like i said, i took the plug out what goes into the sensor and bridged them which would bypass the switch and put power through so surely that would make the fan kick in if was that sensor as your saying?
-
#8Not the sensor directly on the fan. The sensor u r looking 4 is top right of the radiator. should be blue with a yellow ring.

#9yeah i know which one you mean. it a bas***d to get to because of the pas fluid container. ill buy a new sensor at weekend and try it. thanks =]

#10hope u sort it.

#11mine stopped working and i bridged mine and works , but i need to get a new switch the blue one

say youve unplugged the clip that clips onto your sensor and bridge it like what i did and your van still aint working you must have something else wrong thats stopping it
, how have you bridged it ?? also have you checked all your fuses incase one is blown incase a fuse could be to blame
* fuse may not have anything to do to it* but worth checking,
EDIT
only just noticed you checked your fuses lol -
#14it a 3 pin so tried bridging it 3 different ways and nothing happened.
so im guessing it the sender? -
#16got a new sender being delivered today so hopefully that works =]

#17got my new sender and it a two pin, is it still a straight swap??
