Protecting the underside of the car

I'm thinking about treating the slight rust under my car and painting it, seen a few people have done this just wanted to know what products they used or there are any guides about? Probably going to focus on the boot area and the arches to start.

waxoil is the best stuff imo

Clean the living shit out of them, then wire brush all the rust off and give a good coat of wax oil

And never goes hard, thats good stuff

clean it up, wire brush the fu*k out of it and use redlead or hammerite or that waxoil that stuff is mirricle stuff, still cant beat the classic redlead

I use waxoyl and apply it with a paint brush. Does a good job IMO

Waxoyl is spot on imo... doesn't look pretty, but spray/ 'paint' on and forget - function over form and all that.

It doesn't really add too much weight like paints/ heavy duty underseals can. Can be removed with a strong degreaser and elbow grease too.

i seen it in someones progress thread. cant remember who's though.

with waxoyl, can it bee sprayed on where ever without giving a funk?

    This is the clear stuff.

If you do your wheel arches with it, the shit/ muck does stick to them over time... you can strip them back and re-do them every year if you're a style whore though.

You need to keep it away from brakes - I cover them with a carrier bag when spraying it on. Try and keep it away from exhausts too unless you like the smell of burning lol.
