I was told by an avid peugeot fan that fitting an xsi head to a vtr would raise the comp ratio and help it breath better? Is there any truth in this?
mk1 vtr with phase 1 106 xsi head?

#2People tend to do this to VTR's simply to get the 7200 rpm limiter.
As the XSI/raylle heads use big bearing cams. Therefore, putting it on a mk1 vtr block.. Would be like sticking a ph2/3 cam in there.
Raylle inets are ally, so a better induction roar, with the inlet being 3x bigger than the std VTR one.
Would need head/loom/ecu etc.
Quite abit of work to get it all set up tbh. -

excellent advice cheers!
what gains would i expect from this?is there an alternative to going down this route for less money same bhp gain? -
#4If you have the spanner capability, then it usually works out cheaper than actually camming/remaping the vtr engine.
And you will probs be looking at 110-120bhp, dependent on engines condition etc.
Or just buy a raylle/xsi engine, to save joining 2 engines up.
I was toying with this idea, that's why i know abit on it. Some guy on here, has actually done it to his VTR, and he says the gains are goooood
