fuel/petrol gauge help

   Hi ,My fuel gauge seems to be playing up. I have just put £20 in. It showed 3/4 full then within a couple of mins it was back down 2 1/2 full. It seems to be going up and down as i am driving. It been doing this for a while now. Last time i put £15 petrol in and only got about 75 miles untill petrol light came on. Any ideas

   could be the fuel level sensor in the tank? happened to a van at work

   It will read differently if the car's on a hill.
   
   Eg, i start my car on the drive, front end higher than the back.. Says i have half of what i actually have.
   
   Flick key off n back on when on level ground, and wallah.. correct amount of fuel!

   is there any fix if it the sender or just a new fuel pump

   best thing to do is take it to garage. our work van just had to have new sender. should be quite cheap if is that. thats the first thing they will check if take it to garage tbh
