cat

   I found out why my car failed emissions test and its the cat i've been told.
   
   My exhaust is just one piece, is it possible to grind my existing cat off and weld new one on or are there any better alternatives?

   Ok i just went under my car, the guy at the garage told me that all i do it buy a new cat, and clamp it in place. But my old cat is welded in i think
   
   Basically, if i follow my pipe from the manifold, you have the cat first, then a cylinder shape section (silencer??) then you have a clamp which holds this length of piping to the rest (back box, muffler)
   
   So the cat is welded to what i think is the silencer.
   
   What should i do boys?
