Quick tapping, loss of power

   the other day while driving a quick tapping noise appeared, it gets louder n faster with more revs, also loss of power over 2.5k its coming from the top of the enging closest to the inlet... misfire around 3k areaa, its a mk2 vts

   have you checked the oil lately?

   theres no tappets on the sohc as far as im aware so mayb something in the inlet manifold or air filter assemblt etc etc?

   Looks like he has a VTS from his avatar thingy, best do compression test, top end noise could be a lot of things, possibly a dropped or damaged valve or simply a (hydraulic) lifter gone bad.
   
   Note to axsaxovtr - a tappit/follower is just the adjustable mechanism that connects the valve(s) to the camshaft in laymans terms so all 4 stroke engines have some variation of them.
