    Looks okay to me, just needs a clean up and a god map setup for them?

    noob question, but aren't the pistons usually positioned (2 up, 2 down) if you know what i mean?

    think he means whats all the carbon deposits???

    id take a guess at run rich?

    Looks like a ell of alot of carbon, as for the gouges. is your injector nossels & valves alright?

    looks like its been running rich last time it ran and i am guessing it hasn,t run for a while thats why the carbon is flaking off.
    was engine using oil?

    Its been running very rich for that amount of carbon deposits.....lol...

    i bought the gti off my cousin cause he rolled it and these high comps were in it i just havent seen that much carbon on them before i do no that he didnt have them mapped in would that cause the engine to run rich, i dont no how many miles they have done but he only had them in for about 3months and its been sat on my drive for about 2months

    that would probably cause it to run rich - unless he had a wideband to map it himself ?

    proberly run rough and over fuel with no mapp..........
