i pod holder ideas

hey, I've got an idea on an ipod holder for my car and want to say some ideas and look for some feedback before spending money

i saw on someone's progress thread they made an insert to go into the tray below the centre console (sorry can't remember who, icelandic grey vts i think)
going on that maybe a modelling clay base with a slit in to fit my ipod then fibre glassed. i only use the 3.5mm jack on my ipod so no need for the ipod connection to have access really apart from charging.
i also thought of a moulded space on the arm rest on the door card. i was thinking of getting a spare door card and just custom fitting it some how but i was wondering about the wire running involved.
so anyone done anything like this to give me some pointers and maybe say what not to do

think you mean preds, but as for wiring sure your prob best of asking in the ice section. seen a few people who have got rid of the vents on centre console and moulded ipod into that. not seen one on door card would have thought it would be ball ache to get ipod cable long enough to stretch.

there is a guide on it just search for ipod and then put my name on should come up straight away or look in ice stickies

hey yeah, i searched and found your thread about making it but there are no pics on there.
yeah I'd have to cut it up too to thread it through the door etc. Maybe some more thinking than i thought on this little project

cheers mate, no problem if you can't I've seen what you came up with on your progress thread, just not 100% on loosing the storage. can you remove that particular bit of interior without taking too much out?
