Are you sure it is the crank sensor? It is not likely as you have already replaced it and had the car running for a while.

Do you hear fuel pump prime when ignition turned on?

have you tried reseting the inertia switch under bonnet?

Have you got immobilizer light flashing?

Can you try a coilpack off a mate as well, they seem to go quite often?

Have you got anough fuel (note thatfuel guage might be lying to you).

thought it might be as same problem but same thing happen so really dont no now,
i checked all the fuel system (I.E pump, filter, switch, injectors) and no problems, coil pack spark plugs changes since.
and plugged snap-on computer in and no fault codes, so pretty stuck

    thanks 4 suggestions though

i had this problem and it was because my starter motor was breaking up and bit flew into the bellhousing. so everytime i fitted a new cranksensor the bit of starter motor picked up and flew into the cranksensor breaking it. to be honest mate it sounds like this i would take the starter motor off and see if anything is missing off the starter motor and also try and see if you can find any deposists in the bellhousing with a magnet. if not its gearbox out job mine smashed the clutch up in the end aswell so best to check that before it gets expensive. hope this helps
