#2Not quite sure what you're trying to say about accelerating hard but did you lower the car yourself? Any knocking noises could come from alot of places, most likely shock absorbers or driveshafts.
-
#3the shocks are new and so is the o/s/f/ drive shaft and thats where the sound i think is coming from. and yer i did lower it my self
-
#4Perhaps when you were lowering your car you forgot to refit some components properly, such as the drop links, ARB (anti roll bars), shock absorber, brake caliper etc. It's often something daft like that, especially if it suddenly occurs after a big-ish job like lowering a car. What springs/dampers are you running on your car? And did you lower the torsion bar at the rear? Is the noise coming from the front or back?
-
#5i have only changed the springs and i have checked everything is done up. yer the torsion bar is done as well. the noise is coming from the o/s/f i think it sounds like the gearbox coz when i accelerate the noise is there but when i dont it dont
-
#6Perhaps your gearbox, was it making the noise before you lowered the car though? Where do you live Kevin?
-
#7na no noise befor/ reading
-
#8Right. Well the chances are that something to do with the suspension/brakes/draveshafts is causing the noise if it suddenly started after adjusting the suspension. In order to change the springs on a car you would have had to remove both driveshafts in order to take off the wheel hub. Perhaps you didn't correctly refit the driveshaft after fitting the new springs. If you say it only makes the knocking noise on acceleration, are you suffering from loss of power at all?
-
#9both drive shafts are in and locked. na no lack of power at all
-
#10Ok in which case i'm not sure what the problem could be. Is there anyone nearby you can get to take a look at the car for you?
-
#11have a look at where the droplink bolts to the arb, i had the same problem, i f**ked the thread on my drop links so i couldnt do them up so as i was driving to the shop to get my new drop link and as it wasnt tight enough it was banging alot
also why have you made 2 threads asking the same question? -
#12yer i work at a garage but no one has a clue
-
#13dont no this is the first time i have used this the drop link bolts are done up
