no compression

hi all, recently i have changed head gasket, timing belt, water pump, sensors, loads of bits the list goes on, the car was running fine before i changed any parts just had a small leak on the head gasket hence the reason i replaced, since having the work done the car is only running on 3 cylinders and cylinder 4 there is hardly any compression at all, and just done know were to go with it, i dont think i can be piston rings etc because it was running fine before we did the work, the engine is a 1.1 tu1m any help please
    thanks

sounds like a problem with the headgasket fitament ?

Oil and water all okay ? Any mix in them from just turning the engine over?

Are you sure you have no compression, ie have you tested it with a comp tester?

Did you turn the engine by hand after fitting cambelt to check timing was right?

Did you adjust the valve clearences after refitting the head? (you may have over adjusted the valve clearence hence valve not closing fully)

Check spark plugs tightened correctly and check to make sure the tip of one has not fallen off and lodged a valve open.

Have you definately got the firing order right (mixed a ht lead up perhaps)

i had the same problem mate, ckeck your fuel rail/injector, check the timing aswell, vavle clearance etc

the firing order is correct also so is the timing, ive had them checked over at a garage the oil and water is fine they are not mixing, i have noticed when i take of my oil cap it is all creamy, the valve clearences are getting set up correctly tomorow at a garage to see if that helps, the plug in that one cylinder is black, i have done a compression test with a tester yes the other 3 cylinders the compression is spot on but on number 4 there is hardly anything

creamy cap is sign of water/oil mixing mate! You sure the gasket is seated properly?
did you get the head skimmed, could be warped so not sealing properly

oil cap being creamy means oil and water mixing = headgasket, but also could be from before you changed it flush the oold oil out.
as for compression could be the smalles bit if s*ite stopping one of the valves from sealing when closing.

i understand when you say oil and water will make it creamy but im not loosing oil and my water level is staying the same if it was mixing i would drop water and oil would raise as its lighter than water

did you flush you old oil out properly ?

yeh the old oil was flushed out properly but the water that was in the engine when took head off that stayed in
